The Khumbu region of Nepal is sometimes called the “top of the world”, topped by the summit of Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. It is home to the Sherpa people, who are known for their hospitality as well as their mountaineering skills.

On this Yoga based Everest Trek experience the great natural beauty of Nepal and Tibetan culture of the Sherpa people. The Kumbhu Region is home to Himalayan Thar, musk deer and Nepal’s national bird, the brightly coloured Danphe pheasant. The Khumbu region is also famous for its magnificent mountains and stunning scenery. The views of the 8000m Mount Everest, Lhotse and Cho Oyu, as well as the smaller peaks of Nuptse, Thamserku, Kangtega and Kwangde awesome of the best in Nepal. Some say the most impressive of all is the beautiful Mount Ama Dablam.

Trek description: This trek is graded C : a demanding trek, with walking days of between 3 to 6 hours, when there is time to explore the locale or trek a little higher and return, to some longer walking days of 6 hours or more. This trek is suitable for fit and experienced hill-walkers with the stamina for 16 days on the trail in remote high altitude terrain. The ascent of Kalar Pathar is a straightforward walk on a good trail. It is important to remember that most of the trek is above 3000m, therefore, short days walks and small ascents are essential for proper and safe acclimatization. Trails are mostly well maintained, sandy or rocky paths and steep steps, which lead through a variety of beautiful and breathtaking landscapes, including pine and rhododendron forests, as well as glacial moraine.

Weather: The weather can be unpredictable at any time of year, and it is usually very cold at night in the upper Khumbu, so warm clothes (a down jacket is a good idea) and a good sleeping bag are essential.
